The following video is of one of my clients curling my hair with a curling iron.  I do suggest beginning with the lowest heat setting possible, and go higher depending on if your hair needs more heat.

I am so in LOVE with my Sisterlocks®!

I had to go to a banquet, and had about 5 minutes to do something with my hair.  I was able to create this beautiful bun, and I loved it.

I can't believe it is almost been an entire year and I haven't posted anything :(

Shame on me!!  I have been very busy with Sisterlocks® and busy with living life.  There never seems to be enough time in the day to get everything accomplished on my "To Do" list . . . more to come very soon - I promise :)

No More Relaxed Ends

Nervous, scared, excited, ready . . .  all words to describe how I felt about one of my last re-tightenings. Why you may ask, because my very first client (who was Sisterlocked with about 1.5 inches of new growth, and about 7 inches of relaxed hair) was ready to cut her relaxed ends off.  She has had her Sisterlocks for 1 year and 2 months, and she was SO ready to get rid of the relaxed ends . . . . so, her journey continues. 

  

This is a picture of how her hair looked after a fresh washing and before her re-tightening, with relaxed ends.  Her hair was completely wet.

First blog post in a while :)

WOW, I can’t believe it has been so long since I have posted on my blog – bad me!!  I have been working, working, working on helping other women fall deeper in love with their natural hair.  I have also been making Youtube videos, as well as working on my website, just updating it a little, okay, updating it  a lot.  That website has been taking up SO much of my time.

Sisterlocks in an Updo

My husband and I were invited to a semi-formal event, and I had NO idea what I was going to do with my hair.  We had a couple of hours in the car, so I figured that would be when I would have time to experiment.  These are some pictures from the car

Sisterlocks Revolution

WOW is the best word I could use to describe the 2011 Sisterlocks Revolution, in Camp Springs, Maryland.  This was my very first Sisterlock event, and I thought it was wonderful! 

Unfortunately I was only able to stop by for a few hours, because I was on my way to New Jersey for a family event . . .

Even In the parking lot, I could feel the Sisterlock love!!

I know next time that I need to set aside an ENTIRE DAY, because the entire day was packed with things to do!!

As I was making stop at the Sisterlock table, I met a beautiful young lady, she reconized me from this blog!!!  Can you believe it!?  That felt SO good, because it made me realize people are actually out there reading what I have to say, and checking out my pics!  Thanks so much for your support, you don't know how much YOU made my day.  (sorry the pic is fuzzy - you know who took this pic :)

The vendors at the Sisterlocks Revolution were awsome!!  I couldn't help spending some money :)

When I walked past Mother's Finest the wonderful aroma lured me right over.  They make homemade Body Souffles and Body Exfoliants (they even make homemade sweet potato pies).  When I put some of the sample products on, it melted away leaving my skin smooth and fragrant.  What I really liked was, this was the ONLY vendor my husband was even remotely interested in.  They actually had something for the guys too!!  He purchased a small sample named HEAT. 

There were Sisterlocks Consultants all over the room, but this company, Natural Clarity, LLC had a table set up, and the ladies at the table gave me some really valuable information about setting up a business ~ Thanks so much!!

Another table that caught my eye was Mitchell and Co, they make all sorts of products for your body, I purchased some Oatmeal Soap and Citrus Soap along with Cirtrus Heal Butter.  I can't wait to use the products to see what the results will be.

Believe me when I tell you . . . her fingers were moving so fast I was AMAZED!!  She is a Double "Master Stylist Award" Winner, Certified Sisterlocks® Consultant, Florida Licensed Cosmetologist and Natural Nail Technician Licensed Hair Braider.  It was GREAT meeting you!! I also learned about an up-and-coming magazine, Slantress Please show your support by liking their page.
